- Additionally, only Shaggy, Velma and Scooby are lassoed for a moment. Inexplicably, Daphne and Fred also appear in the lasso a second later, even though they were not originally lassoed.

When Velma's Uncle Dave is captured by owl men, the gang tries to find him, while running into the Willawaw, a large owl. Legend has it if an owl calls your name, you're the Willawaw's next victim.
Trivia:
- Willawaw is a probable reference to the Native American word williwaw, which means "a sudden violent squall blowing offshore from a mountainous coast".
- Beginning with this episode, the title card was slightly redesigned to include a different mansion and tree in the background. The basic design of this title card (with minor tweaks in the Scrappy series) would be used in all Scooby-Doo series until The 13 Ghosts of Scooby-Doo in 1985.

Scooby and Shaggy see a ghost in an old fortress they are visiting, but decide not to tell the rest of the gang so they don't have to solve the mystery.

- Fred's arm accidentally goes through Daphne while trying to pull the lever to trap the ghost.
- When the gang and Shaggy and Scooby meet up in the tunnel, the background is erroneously showing trees and the night sky.
- Logically, the fake phone booth should not have fooled the police. Presumably, the police would have some prior knowledge of what was in the city, and the fake phone booth does not even have a phone in it.
- Shaggy touches the cannon and comments that it is hot. However, a minute later, they are somehow able to crawl on the cannon when running away from the ghost without being burned.
