In the town of Crystal Cove, the gang must stop a horrifying slime mutant which has ascended from the sewers that is trapping its victims in gelatinous cocoons. Despite their parents' disapproval, the gang tries to solve the mystery while balancing school and getting a strange message from a mystery man known only as "Mr. E."

Trivia:
- Although the first-run air date of this episode is April 5, 2010, Cartoon Network called the airing a "series sneak peak," labeling the actual series premiere date as July 12, 2010.
- Scooby and Shaggy's eyebrows change color while complaining about their wigs in one scene.
- One of the tourists has a strong resemblance to Don Knotts, who guest-starred in two episodes of The New Scooby-Doo Movies.

THE CREEPING CREATURES

Villain: Gator People
The gang goes to Gatorsburg after receiving a lead that gator skin purses are still being made in the town, despite that it has been abandoned. When the Mystery Machine's engine is stolen, the gang must stay the night in the creepy abandoned town, with three gator people on the loose.

Trivia:
- The family at the beginning of the episode strongly resembles the Griswald family from the National Lampoon's Vacation films.
- There is a small plot hole in this episode, when Daphne says she is allergic to fake gator skin. Somehow, she is able to pick up a belt to help Fred with the trap, but doesn't show signs of allergies.
- The hotel has alligator-themed versions of classic paintings, including American Gothic and Dogs Playing Poker.

THE SECRET OF THE GHOST RIG

Doorknobs vanishing, priceless diamonds, and a new boyfriend for Daphne? Those are just a few of the weird things happening in Crystal Cove, after a ghost trucker appears and begins scaring the residents away.

- While Daphne is sewing the scarf, she hums the theme song of The New Scooby-Doo Movies.

REVENGE OF THE MAN CRAB

The gang goes to a volleyball tournament sponsored by Trickell's Triquid (a non-fatty water substitute), where a man-crab is dragging girl volleyball players under the sand. After Daphne is captured by the Man-Crab, the gang must solve the case for the sake of Daphne...and Fred's sanity.

Trivia:
- Pebbles and Bamm-Bamm from The Flintstones can be seen as teenagers on the beach.

THE SONG OF MYSTERY

The gang is on the case of the zombified children after a kid that Daphne babysits turns into a monster. It seems that a creature named Que Horrifico is turning children into zombies by playing a hypnotic flute, and through the gang's investigation, it appears that the gang's teacher may be the creature! Meanwhile, Velma becomes very controlling of Shaggy and asks him to stop saying "like."

A new girl named Alice May comes to Crystal Cove High and Fred takes a liking to her. Meanwhile, Sheriff Stone warns the students that there is a ghost girl taking guys away into the night in her phantom limousine, in order to build up her "man posse." When the gang is attacked by the ghost girl in the Crystal Cove Cemetery, they find out that Alice is the ghost girl...and wants to take Fred to the prom.

Trivia:
- Elements from "Jeepers, It's The Creeper!" (Scooby-Doo, Where Are You?) are referenced in this episode.
- Two of the dancing kids at the prom resemble Coilman and Multiman from The Impossibles (another Hanna-Barbera series).

IN FEAR OF THE PHANTOM

Velma's favorite band the Hex Girls are in town, so she and the gang go along to the concert. While there, a mysterious phantom tries to harm the girls, and Daphne must go undercover as new Hex Girl "Crush" to capture the phantom. Meanwhile, Scooby becomes jealous of Velma and makes friends with a puppet named Harry.

- During Daphne's "Trap of Love" song, the highlights in Dusk's hair briefly disappear before reappearing like normal.
- EarTube is an obvious parody of YouTube.

THE GRASP OF OF THE GNOME

Two giant creatures named "Humungonauts" begin wrecking buildings in Crystal Cove. The gang, which Fred has now named "Mystery Incorporated" after their predecessors, tries to stop the giant monsters by looking for clues - but does the fact that all the buildings being attacked are owned by Max and Jax Minner have anything to do with the mystery? Meanwhile, Velma forces Shaggy to choose between her and Scooby.

Trivia:
​- This episode is a parody of War of the Gargantuas. "Stuck in My Throat" is the name of a song in that movie, which is parodied in this episode.

HOWL OF THE FRIGHT HOUND

Scooby is framed for wrecking Velma's mother's tour bus by a monstrous dog, and is arrested by Sheriff Stone. While visiting Scooby at the animal asylum, they meet Professor Pericles, the mascot of the old Mystery Incorporated, who warns Fred to beware of those close to him. In addition, Shaggy also finally decides between Scooby and Velma.

Trivia:
- This episode is a reference to Terminator.
- The character Jason Wyatt was named after the production manager for the series (who has the same name).
- Yogi Bear appears as an inmate in the asylum.
- The Crystal Cove Online game on the Cartoon Network website that allowed players to play a version of each week's mystery accidentally uploaded the level to go with this episode three weeks too early, on September 13. This revealed the plot and culprit of the episode.


THE SECRET SERUM

Torn apart from Velma and Shaggy's break-up and Fred and Daphne's fight, the gang tries to solve the mystery of a strange vampire stealing valuable items to make a serum. What Daphne doesn't realize is that the vampire may indeed be someone very close to her.

Trivia:
- Angie Dinkley mentions Skull Island, which appeared (as different islands) in both "Go Away Ghost Ship" (Scooby-Doo, Where Are You?) and "The Creepy Case of Old Iron Face" (The Scooby-Doo Show).
- Cass Elliot and Don Knotts appear in the audience at the auction. The auctioneer is also a parody of David Dickinson, a famous antiques expert.
- The restaurant's name is a parody of the horror movie The Cabinet of Dr. Calagari.

THE SHRIEKING MADNESS

- This episode is a parody of H.P. Lovecraft and his books. Char Gar Gothakon is a parody of Cthulhu.
- Galaxy Quest is referenced when Mayor Jones says "By Grabthar's hammer".
- Howard E. Roberts is a parody of another famous author, Robert E. Howard, who is most famous for creating Conan the Barbarian.

A giant cicada creature made up of thousands of cicada bugs begin attacking workers of Destroido Corporation, the company that makes Shaggy and Scooby's favorite snacks, Nature's Slivers. The gang tries to solve the mystery, but is threatened by the creature that something terrible will happen to them if they don't immediately cease the investigation.

Trivia:
- Despite that this officially marks the middle of Season 1, Cartoon Network advertised this episode as the Season 1 finale, and the next episode ("Mystery Solvers Club State Finals") as the Season 2 premiere.

MYSTERY SOLVERS CLUB STATE FINALS

Villain: Lord Infernicus
At the Mystery Solvers Club State Finals, where big name mystery-solvers Speed Buggy, Jabberjaw, The Funky Phantom and Captain Caveman are all participating, a demon named Lord Infernicus kidnaps all the contestants besides the mascots. Being the only ones left, the team mascots are forced to figure out the mystery and find their pals.

Trivia:
- This episode was originally supposed to premiere on January 31, 2011, but was postponed at the last minute for unknown reasons. Due to the last minute cancellation, iTunes and Amazon were never notified by Cartoon Network of the change, so the episode was posted February 1, the next day. The episode was promptly removed within a few days after the mistake was discovered.
- The casts of Jabberjaw, Speed Buggy, The Funky Phantom and Captain Caveman appear in this episode.
- Oddly, the Funky Phantom is never once called "Mudsy" in this episode, despite that his name was used all the time in the original The Funky Phantom series.

- This episode's title is a parody of Marlon Brando's The Wild One film, evident by the fact that Brando spelled backwards is Odnarb.

- The Repellant of Dr. Phobos is a parody of The Abominable Dr. Phibes, a real life Vincent Price film.
- Scooby's initials are backwards on his dog tag when the Mutant Bee appears.
- Vincent's organ security code differs in length each time he plays it.

The gang searches City Hall to find why Fred's dad is acting so strangely, but are stopped by a creature who calls himself The Freak of Crystal Cove. The gang is arrested by Sheriff Stone for breaking and entering, and Fred and Daphne reveal that they are engaged to their parents and the gang. Mortified, the gang's parents refuse to let the gang see each other. While stuck in their room, Shaggy and Scooby meet up face to face with the ghoulish Freak again, causing them to have to escape out the window. Frustrated with their parents, the gang runs away from home and vows to solve the mystery of the haunted treasure once and for all, but are stalked by the Freak of Crystal Cove at every turn.

The new mayor, Janet Nettles, is approached by Velma, who asks them to bring the gang back together. After rescuing Shaggy from military school, Scooby from the farm, and Fred from being a hobo, the gang reunites to find Daphne. To their dismay, Daphne decides she does not want to come back due to getting a new boyfriend, Baylor Hotner, who is the star of the "Dusk" movies. Meanwhile, the town is plagued by Crybaby Clown, a mischievous clown who wants to turn Crystal Cove into chaos.

Trivia:
- On March 30, 2012, the episode was accidentally posted on Cartoon Network's website and sent to TV on-demand providers, in place of "Beware the Beast from Below," which was the episode that was intended to be posted. The episode was removed on April 2, 2012.
- Crybaby Clown mentions Redbeard's Ghost and Mano Tiki Tia from "Go Away Ghost Ship" and "A Tiki Scare is No Fair," both from Scooby-Doo, Where Are You? respectively.
- Crybaby Clown's lines when scratching his nails on the chalkboard is a reference to a scene in Jaws.
- Mark Hamill, most famous for voicing The Joker from Batman, voices Crybaby Clown.

ART OF DARKNESS!

- This is the first time an episode has made its world premiere on Cartoon Network in the US since "When the Cicada Calls" on October 25, 2010.
- Randy Warsaw is a spoof of artist Andy Warhol.
- The title is a parody of Heart of Darkness by Joseph Conrad.
- Velma is briefly seen with her glasses on after they were crushed. Her eyes are also green, which is inconsistent with the fact that they were black when she lost her glasses in "Creeping Creatures."

Mayor Nettles hosts a Horror Movie Night in the Crystal Cove Cemetery, only for a ghoul to rise from the grave and attack the participating citizens. While the culprit seems obvious to everyone, Fred tries to discourage the gang from "profiling," so they investigate three Danish girls and their mother, who have just moved to Crystal Cove. While Fred and Shaggy are busy being smitten by the girls and Daphne becomes obsessed with chocolate, Velma and Scooby try to solve the mystery alone by investigating the graveyard by themselves.

NIGHT ON HAUNTED MOUNTAIN

Fred promises to solve the mystery of the mysterious Lilith who has sent Ethan and Gary to the hospital and stole their lucky soccer ball. On their investigation, the gang runs into a town full of hillbillies and a strange woman named Boron who is in love with a soccer ball. With the help of Boron, the gang finds the Lilith's hideout - an ancient Spanish galleon full of traps.

- The painted face on the soccer ball is a reference to Wilson from Cast-Away.

GRIM JUDGMENT

A ghostly puritan haunts Crystal Cove and begins judging girls. When they turn to Ethan and Gary for help, they accuse Doogle McGuiness, a student with a love for acting. With Brad and Judy's help, the gang sets up a trap to see if Hebediah Grim is really Doogle McGuiness or a real ghost.

Trivia:
- Cartoon Network sent the title of this episode to TV providers and TV listing sites (including cartoonnetwork.com) with a typo in "Judgment" (it was incorrectly spelled as "Judgement"). As of currently, the typo has never been corrected for any TV providers or by Cartoon Network.
- Scott Jeralds and Vic Cook, two members on the crew for the show, appear in the Crystal Cove High Yearbook.
- Sternum to Sternum is a parody of the real-life TV show Hart to Hart.
- "
The Scorning" is misspelled as "The Scroming" on the program.

A landslide causes the gang to become trapped in the Burlington Library, where owner Dan Fluunk greets the gang, and shares the original owner's strange obsession with mystery solving groups consisting of four humans and an animal. When the gang goes to bed for the night, strange things begin happening and each of the gang members are attacked by monsters and apparitions.

Trivia:
- This episode is a parody of "The Shining".
- Daphne's bathrobe erroneously turns purple when she and Shaggy are kissing, despite that it was yellow earlier.

THE MIDNIGHT ZONE

Villain: Kriegstaffelbots / Spectre of Abigail Gluck
After a Nazi World War II-esque soldier nearly blows up K-Ghoul, the gang goes underwater to investigate where the robots are coming from. With the help of Tom, Tub and Scooby the seal, the gang submerges into deep underwater area called the Midnight Zone, where the robots are emerging.​

Trivia:
- The villains were originally advertised by Cartoon Network as "Kriegstoppabots," however, a few months later, Tony Cervone (the head writer of the show) confirmed that the correct name for the villains were "Kriegstaffelbots."

The gang goes to the Crystal Cove prison to ask Mary Ann Gleardon (who was arrested for dressing up as Que Horrifico) for help, after a Krampus begins punishing all the bad children in Crystal Cove. After the Krampus breaks into prison and steals Mary Ann, the gang must chase the beast to get Mary Ann back. Meanwhile, the old Mystery Incorporated tries to steal the gang's pieces of the Planispheric Disk.

- The Evil Entity/Crystal Sarcophagus Ghost is credited as Nibiru, which is incorrect.

- Velma reads information regarding Nibiru to the gang from what she says is her "favorite Internet encyclopedia." The info she reads to the gang is almost word-for-word from the real-life Wikipedia article on the event.

- HB News is an obvious reference to Hanna-Barbera. This news company also appears in Scooby-Doo! Mask of the Blue Falcon.
- Dave Wakeling wrote both songs in The Hex Girls vs. Ska-Tastic competition.
- Cass Elliot appears in the dance mob.
- The Hex Girls comment that they wanted a more "classic" look for their new outfits. This is a fourth-wall breaking joke, playing on the fact that many fans were dissatisfied with their remodeled appearances from "In Fear of the Phantom."

The band's lead singer, Rude Boy, is actually a subtle reference to Jamaican street culture. "Rude boy" was a term for a subculture for people who liked ska music, and also desired to challenge the status quo and societal norms.

- The original airing of this episode on Cartoon Network had approximately the first two minutes of the episode cut. In CN's airing of the episode, the beginning of the episode showed Fred already in the mirror world, confusing viewers as they had not seen where Fred was pulled inside the mirror world. It is unknown why the footage was cut. One day later, the full episode (including the omitted two minutes) was released online.

- The Sitting Room is a reference to Twin Peaks.
- Scooby's line "Every time I think I'm out, they pull me back in" is the same line said by Michael Corleone in The Godfather III.

- Several quotes from famous movies were used in this episode during the uprising. Scooby's line, "They drew first blood, not me." is a reference to First Blood. Shaggy's comment "Danger! Danger! Run, Will Robinson, Run!" is a mash-up of Lost in Space and Forrest Gump.

After the gang makes it through the first two gates, they are chased throughout the dimension by a rock monster.

The Evil Entity has been released from the crystal sarcophagus, and consumes Professor Pericles so he can gain strength. After the Heart of the Jaguar does not work to stop the Entity, the gang must find the true Heart of the Jaguar, whose location surprises everyone.

​- This episode aired exactly three years after the series premiered on Cartoon Network, concluding the series.
- The intro where Nova talks in the stars is a parody of David Lynch's Dune.
- In this same intro, Nova calls Porto the donkey "Gordo," which is Spanish for "heavy."
